Joel Chapman is a conductor and bass-baritone in the Bay Area. Recent theatrical credits include The Last Five Years (music director), Sunday in the Park with George (music director), Company (music director), The Fantasticks (El Gallo), My Fair Lady (music director), and [Title of Show] (music director). He has sung with and conducted Convivium, a new chamber choir, the Stanford Chamber Chorale, and Fleet Street, a male comedy a cappella group. Additionally, he has made appearances with the California Bach Society and Volti, a chamber choir specializing in new music. Joel is a graduate of Stanford University and received his M.A. in Music, Science, and Technology from Stanford at the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA), where he studied digital signal processing, recording technologies, and specialized in sound design. Joel received his B.A. in Music from Stanford with emphases in vocal performance and conducting and studied with Gregory Wait, Laura Dahl, and Stephen Sano.
