Michael Gene Sullivan

Award-winning Actor/Writer/Director, Resident Playwright: The San Francisco Mime Troupe, The Playwrights Foundation,The Djerassi Arts Center (2017), Guggenheim Fellowship (2022). Michael has written over 30 plays, and has taught playwriting at the American Conservatory Theatre, SFMT’s Young California Writers Project, and has guest lectured or taught workshops at Yale, Stanford, Dartmouth, and USC. Michael’s stage adaptation of George Orwell’s 1984 has been translated into five languages and has been performed in fourteen countries on five continents, and his play The Great Khan premiered at San Francisco Playhouse, San Diego Rep. and Chicago’s Red Twist Theatre.
