Angie Doctor

Angie Doctor has been a part of the SF Bay Area vocal music community since 1995. As an Artist-Teacher, she is a vocal coach, clinician, and director for school music ensembles and solo singers. Professionally, she has been a background singer for groups such as The Manhattans, Deneice Williams, Heatwave, Gene Chandler, Barbara Lewis, Billy Paul, and many others, studio singer and voice-over talent, and was the latest and last Girl member of the wackiest of a cappella quartets, The Bobs. In addition, she has been singer and soloist for music projects with Sufjan Stevens, Sweet Honey in the Rock, John Zorn, Meredith Monk, performing at venues that include Zellerbach in Berkeley, Carnegie Hall and the Philharmonie Berlin; and performed with Bobby McFerrin in performances of his recording “VOCAbuLarieS” in San Francisco and at Lincoln Center, and a featured soloist on the Grammy-nominated recording of Leonard Bernstein’s “Mass” (Harmonia Mundi), conducted by Kent Nagano.
