Daniel Savio

Daniel Savio started his professional theater career with the Tony-winning political musical theater company the San Francisco Mime Troupe playing keyboards during their 2006 and 2007 tours. He was co-composer/lyricist, with SFMT vet Bruce Barthol, of the play FSM ('14, Stagebridge Senior Theater), written by fellow SFMT vet Joan Holden. He returned to the Mime Troupe band in 2015 and has been with the company ever since. In 2020 he became the Troupe's resident Composer/Lyricist and most recently wrote lyrics and music for the Troupe's 2023 musical Breakdown. Daniel has been musical director of numerous community and children's productions at theaters in the North and East Bay. In 2024 Daniel will be musical director of the Marin Mountain Play's production of Kinky Boots. Daniel has a BA in Music from the University of California at Santa Cruz.
