Stage Manager Training Series

November 3 - December 7

Funded by the San Francisco Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD), this four week program provided participants with an overview of the role of the stage manager in sessions led by experienced industry professionals.

Participants had the opportunity to apply their newly learned skills in a hands-on way, serving as the Stage Manager for a project in SFBATCO’s Creators Lab, which took place at Brava Theater Center’s Cabaret Space on December 6-7, 2025. Each Stage Manager was paired up with a Creators Lab project to stage manage.

Program Details

Compensation:
All participants paid $20/hr for their participation.

Application and Eligibility:
We selected 6-8 applicants. Because this is funded by OEWD, priority was given to applicants based in San Francisco, with proof of SF residency. Priority was also given to candidates with no conflicts. There can be absolutely no conflicts during the Creators Lab rehearsal and performance period.

Sessions were twice per week. Mondays were at Brava Theater Center in San Francisco, Saturdays were on Zoom.

  • One rehearsal in the evening week of December 1st

  • Required calls:

    • Friday December 5: 3-9 PM

    • Saturday December 6: 11:00 AM-8:30 PM

    • Sunday December 7: 2:00-5:00
